Cos dude, guys in our generation are getting old and all we hear is the mainstream stuff thats new. Theres some good underground stuff out there. Have to hassle the pesky kids for it though!
Popular music has sounded like crap for the past 10-15 years. But more 'obscure' genres are in a better condition than ever. Of course the moment they reach broader audience is usually the moment they start to suck - just look at dubstep (or should I say brostep?)
Its the music that you grow up listening to that you like the most. More than likely when kids nowadays grow up, they'll be singing the same old tune you're singing right now.
"Why isin't music the same as it used to be?"
Same thing with cartoons, videogames, television and other media.
i can't say that i miss those years since i was so young and never want to be that young again but i do tend to find myself wishing that Huey Lewis would bring back The News
Music these days are all about random stuff. Seriously, what kind of songwriter writes about Friday, or repeats the same phrase over and over and over again (E.g. AY BAY BAY!)
Good music now is really hard to come by.

ReplyDeletegood music isn't too hard to find; however, great music is getting rarer and rarer
